Wilson's Wharf
Wilson's Wharf is Durban's Waterfront marina with attractions such as floating restaurants, specialty shops, pubs, restaurants, a craft-house and the Cataline Theatre. Feel the vibrant marine buzz and enjoy the marvellous harbour views.
Take a cruise on Durban's coastline and be part of sea voyage. Witness the colourful yacht marina, the extraordinary Sugar Terminal and the Bayhead Heritage Park. Cruises depart daily and are weather permitting. Booking is essential.
Be part of the historical and yet fascinating discovery of the Natal Maritime Museum, which is set on-board three South African ships - two tug boats, the Ulundi and JR More and a midesweeper and the SAS Durban. One of the highlighs of the museum is the Britannia Exhibition Hall, offering a terrific nautical experience.
Umgeni River Bird Park
Immerse yourself in the freedom that nature provides. Enjoy a relaxed day at the Umgeni River Bird Park while admiring the beauty of Africa's rare bird life collection. Free flight Bird Show - the first in Africa, comprising of critically endangered species like the Wattled Crane, as well as owls, storks, hornbills and a Cape Vulture. Fun for you and the family.
Daily bird shows are at 11am and 2pm.
The Green Hub
Durban's 'Green Heart' - connecting people with nature. At the heart of the uMngeni Green Precinct is the 'uMngeni River Estuary Green Hub' (Green Hub), and innovation and sustainable, environmentally - responsible building at Blue Lagoon Park, housing a nature-based tourism and sustainable living information, education and promotion centre.
The Green Hub also serves as the base and trial hub centre for Coastal Adventures, run by the Durban Green Corridor Project (DGC), which operates various trails up the uMngeni Valley and inland to the eNanda Dam and surrounds, through eNanda Adventures.
