THE GREEN HUB

Next to the uMngeni River estuary lies the Green Hub, the centre of the Durban Green Corridor initiative. It serves as an eco-tourism information and environmental education centre which is active in promoting local environmental clean-ups, outdoor activities and education programmes for schools and local residents.

The Green Hub offers:

ATTRACTIONS AT MOSES MABHIDA STADIUM

SkyCar

The SkyCar takes visitors on a two-minute trip to the Sky Platform, the stadium arch’s highest point a staggering 106m above the pitch. Visitors can disembark and enjoy 15-20 minutes of breathtaking, panoramic views of Durban and the Indian Ocean.

Adventure Walk

For those with an adventurous spirit the southern legs of the arch incorporate a guided Adventure Walk. Visitors are able to make their way to the top of the arch to the Sky Platform (and down again) via 550 steps.

Stadium Tour

This all access tour showcases this state-of-the-art landmark multifunctional facility. Fully trained tour guides will take visitors through this inspiring facility including the People’s Park, Retail/Imbizo Place and surrounding precinct. Visitors will be treated to the architectural and engineering ingenuity as well as panoramic views of Durban’s shoreline.
